If at first you don’t succeed…

When it comes to working with herbs and spices, I appreciate the varied and wonderful flavours but I am not  one of those people who can produce a meal off the top of my head, confident that it will create a palatable result.

Saying that, I do love a challenge but it tends to take me longer to produce something I feel happy about sharing  with others…

The kindness of strangers…

Wow!

Well, It’s been a little while since my last post and to put a long story short, it’s been a pretty hectic week. Exhaustion, successes, upsets and laughs, but as Ronan Keating so rightly put, “Life is a rollercoaster”.

I know – that is incredibly sad of me…

Despite the fact that I have probably gone partially insane (given that I’m now quoting ex-boyzone members), I did manage to find some space in the week to try out some new ideas…

See green? Scream…

I must have written over four different drafts for this post, yet not one passed my discerning editorial opinion. I don’t know what it is, but for these last few days, writing just hasn’t been my forte. It’s an odd thing when I think some days I could sit and write until the cows come home and other days, I’d be lucky if I can pull together a few words.

I had planned a lot more – in terms of content – for this post, but I think it’s best I leave that for another time, rather than have you all read paragraph after paragraph of nonsensical gibberish.

Anyway, I’m not going to witter on too much in this post, so let’s move on to the recipe…

A splash of cream…

It is funny to think that I once doubted the culinary power of the humble nut…

I never used to use nuts in cooking. I felt they brought nothing to the dish other than fat – how wrong I was!
